Nava Benefits is thrilled to be included in Inc’s Best Workplaces 2022. From our supportive culture, to our cross-team brainstorms, to our willingness to experiment, Navanauts from across the organization weigh in on their favorite things about working at Nava.

The news is out: Nava Benefits has been officially named as one of Inc’s Best Workplaces 2022!

We’ve taken an intentional approach to building a supportive, inclusive culture since day one, and we’re not slowing down yet.

But if we’re really being honest here, this wasn’t a huge surprise to the Navanauts. Don’t get us wrong, we’re thrilled to be included in this awesome list — but our teams already knew that Nava is a great place to work. So we’ll pass the mic to some Navanauts to hear what they love about working at Nava.

1. We’re down to experiment (and, sometimes, fail).

“Nava has an awesome culture of experimentation. One of our core company values is Drive Progress Through Action, which means we're encouraged to take leaps of faith, even if we fall short. So whether it's demoing new software, trying new co-working techniques, or coordinating team activities, every single employee no matter their role is given the support to dive head-first into an idea they believe in. We celebrate those experiments in our public channels and team meetings, and it makes for a really dynamic and empowering workplace.” Matt Kaiser, Sr. Product Designer

2. We believe that remote does not equal alone.

“One of the reasons why I love working at Nava is how thoughtful and thorough the company is about making sure people feel included and supported. As a fully remote company it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle but Nava makes it a point to get everyone connected, be it through company and team off-site trips to fun destinations or virtual co-working days like Around Day. As a relatively new hire, the best thing was getting an Onboarding Buddy! You basically get a built-in friend and it really goes such a long way in embracing people and making us feel at home.” Anika Kabir, Senior Sales Operations Specialist

3. We love a brainstorm.

“One thing that stands out to me and really adds to my productivity personally is this culture of willingness to brainstorm. There is a large emphasis on running ideas by each other in rubber ducky sessions. This is particularly helpful for product teams because it helps identify potential risks and shed light on alternative approaches to the problems we face on a daily basis.” — Yusuf Sharaby, Lead Product Manager

4. We’re transparent in all we do.

“Nava’s culture of transparency and accountability helps tie everyone’s work to the goal of the organization (#fixhealthcare). In our weekly Town Hall meetings, leadership outlines key business metrics to help employees understand the health of the organization and impact of our hard work. I have learned a ton about the strategies, opportunities, and challenges of building a high-growth business in my time at Nava. It feels like I’m getting an MBA in how to scale a fast-growing company!” Nick Moores, Senior Manager of Business Development

Each Space Jam, we recognize the Navanauts who have gone above and beyond in our Navvies Value Heroes Awards.

5. We’ve got each others’ backs.

“Honestly, company culture at Nava is unlike anything I've ever experienced before. Our team is comprised of some of the most genuine, hardworking and empathic people I know. As a first time mom in the workforce, it's really important to feel supported and have flexibility to care for my son when he needs my attention. At Nava I know my team has my back if I need to take on mom-duty during normal working hours, and I've been able to connect with other Navanaut parents going through a lot of the same things, either IRL at company events or through our #NavaParents Slack channel. It's awesome to have the luxury of having a support system in both my professional and personal life — us new parents can use all the help we can get!” Alex Cozort, Field Marketing Manager

6. We’re big on collaboration.

"I really enjoy Nava's culture of cross-departmental collaboration. Because I'm 'in the know' of what other teams are working on, I'm better able to use my insurance 'super powers' to support them, and vice versa. Plus, we're encouraged to unapologetically be ourselves with nothing but mutual respect for our peers, so we're comfortable sharing feedback to help each other become 10% better.” Bukola Ishola, Client Manager

7. We foster connections across teams.

“There are so many things I love about working at Nava, but one thing I love the most is the interconnectivity of different people throughout the company. Nava makes it easy between company- and team-wide trips, Jam Sessions, Donut chats, and our weekly Town Halls, to meet with folks across different teams and build real connections. I've worked at remote companies before and it's often the case where you never meet someone working in a different part of the organization. These connections make Nava feel more like a family, building team morale by creating a warm and welcoming environment.” — Harold Fich, Software Engineer

8. We know how to have fun.

“So many things come to mind when thinking about why I love being at Nava. The one that stands out is the culture that exists at Nava, it's second to none. We take ‘work hard, play hard’ to a new level. Each and every associate is eagerly standing by to assist and support each other at a moment's notice. We celebrate each others’ victories as if they're our own and learn from our losses as a team. Leadership is transparent, visible, and accessible while clearly communicating our mission and values. We also have FUN doing what we do and when we get everyone together, game on.” Chris Renzulli, Partner
