HR is full of tasks that are important but time-consuming. The good news: a lot of them are exactly the kind of work AI is built to help with. The challenge for most people isn't whether AI is useful. It’s knowing where to start.
This session is designed to answer that. We’ll work through real HR tasks together, live, so you can follow along in your AI tool of choice. We’re building in plenty of time for questions, one-on-one guidance, and the kind of back-and-forth that actually helps things click. We’ll be working in HQ, Nava’s proprietary AI tool, but you’re welcome to use whatever you already have.
Part 1: AI for HR 101
We’ll cover the foundations: how to think about AI as a workflow tool, where it adds the most value for HR teams, and how to write prompts that actually get you useful outputs.
Part 2: Hands-On Workshop
This is where you roll up your sleeves. We’ll walk through real HR tasks together in real time, with space to ask questions, get unstuck, and try things yourself. Bring a task you’ve been wanting to automate. We’ll help you get there.
Come ready to work on things like:
Walk away with practical AI skills you can use the next day, and a clearer sense of where AI fits into your benefits and HR workflow.

Kieran Shaw, Senior AI Engineer at Nava Benefits, brings a perspective on AI that most engineers don’t: he’s been in the weeds of business operations himself. Before moving into data science and AI engineering, Kieran spent years as a business operations analyst, the kind of role where your to-do list is long, your time is short, and half your day can disappear into tasks that feel more administrative than strategic. That background shapes how he thinks about building AI tools. Kieran is the engineer behind HQ, Nava’s proprietary AI tool, and he built it with exactly this kind of problem in mind.

Vin Treglia, Senior Benefits Advisor at Nava Benefits, works directly with HR and finance leaders at mid-market companies to build benefits strategies that have traditionally been out of reach for organizations their size. He’s spent his career in client-facing roles across a range of industries, including over three years at Culture Amp helping companies leverage technology to build stronger workplace cultures, before bringing that people-first lens to the benefits space. At Nava, Vin is on the front lines of the conversations HR leaders are actually having: what’s not working, what they wish they had more time for, and where AI can help close the gap. He brings that real-world context to this workshop.

Ilana Mauskopf is the Senior Director of People and Talent Operations at Nava Benefits. With a personal and empathetic approach, Ilana leads the strategic direction of Nava's hiring, culture, benefits, employee engagement and retention. Within this realm, she has a particular passion for helping companies (and their culture) scale and creating a psychologically safe environment for employees. Before her role at Nava she was on the People Team at Datacamp where she oversaw team growth of 350% during her tenure. Additionally, she spent time in the recruiting space at Stack Overflow and Huxley Banking and Financial Services. Outside of work Ilana unwinds by practicing yoga, testing out new restaurants, and playing video games.
