His last startup, VTS, is the leasing and marketing platform for the majority of office buildings in the United States and is transforming how the commercial real estate industry operates. His writing on startups has earned him plenty of praise and critique. When he’s not building companies he’s probably skiing, surfing, or cycling.
Marc leads OpenAI's work with startups and the venture capital community. Before OpenAI, he led a team at AWS focused on supporting startups and co-founded a venture-backed food-tech startup called Farm Hill. Earlier in his career, Marc served as an engineer at enterprise software firm Appian and later an investor at Acumen, a global impact investment fund.
Tim Schwartz leads the product team for Benefits at Rippling. He and the team are focused on how Rippling can empower employers, employees, brokers, and benefits partners to seamlessly provide the ideal, personalized benefits offering.
Prior to joining Rippling he was the founder and CEO at several venture backed startups in healthcare and fintech and was an early product and operations leader at Collective Health.

Thrive Capital manages over $15bn of AUM and has invested in many leading tech companies such as Instagram, Spotify, Stripe, OpenAI, Instacart, Github, Slack, Unity, Nubank, Affirm, and Robinhood. Kareem is a co-founder of Cadence, Cedar, Nava, and RightwayRx, and sits on the board of all four companies. Kareem has led investments in companies like Headway, Honor, Pleo, Ramp, Rightway, Robinhood, Stripe, Trade Republic, Trialspark, and Vetcove, and previously worked with Affirm, Lemonade, Nubank, and Oscar among others. Prior to joining Thrive, Kareem was a private equity investor at Blackstone. He graduated from Harvard University with degrees in Economics and Healthcare Policy.
